Are you joining us to see Newsies on Sunday, June 3? This past week the show played to 100.8% of capacity.
Newsies received eight Tony nominations including Best Musical. Also, nominated for seven Outer Critics Circle Awards, six Drama Desk Awards and two Drama League Awards, including Best Musical nods
from all three organizations.
And now the latest --Newsies was the big winner at the 13th annual Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, taking home four trophies including Favorite Onstage Pair for leads Jeremy Jordan and Kara Lindsay, Favorite New Musical and Favorite Actor in a Musical for star Jeremy Jordan.
Disney’s Newsies, a big-scale family crowd-pleasing musical about a late 19th century newsboy strike, follows a young New York City newsboy (Jordan) who leads a group of orphans in a protest against Joseph Pulitzer, William Randolph Hearst and other powerful newspaper publishers. Lindsay plays Katherine Plumber, a female news reporter and Jack’s love-interest. The musical is playing at the Nederlander Theatre, 208 W. 41st Street. Limited engagement runs through Aug. 19.
Our Newsies trip is the Sunday matinee, June 3. $179 pp. This excludes dinner which will be on your own as we stop at the popular Mastoris Diner and Restaurant in Bordentown, NJ off the Turnpike.
Be advised the matinee starts at 1 P.M. and runs 2 hours and 20 minutes.

In addition to seeing Newsies on June 3, you’ll be able to watch some of the five-hour long 2012 Celebrate Israel Parade, the world’s largest public gathering honoring the State
of Israel and commemorating the 64th anniversary of the country’s founding.
This magnificent, family-friendly parade features the region’s best marching bands, top American and Israeli musical acts, entertainers, artists, musicians, dancers, celebrities, floats, American and
Israeli community leaders and dignitaries, and much more. The parade route on Fifth Avenue stretches from 57th to 74th Streets. We’ll be leaving Baltimore earlier than usual, at 7:15 a.m., to
accommodate folks who wish to view a part of this fabulous parade and for those who wish to spend more time elsewhere in NYC prior to the show.
Our bus will make a stop at Times Square and also at 58th street, near to the parade route, and be available to take folks down to the theatre from 58th street at approximately 12:20 p.m.

• Nice Work If You Can Get It--A terrific cast! Kelli O’Hara and Matthew Broderick starring together in a romantic screwball musical comedy and singing Gershwin songs is going to
be a total blast! This new musical features a veritable hit parade of iconic George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin songs. The dazzling musical follows Billie Bendix (Kelli O'Hara), a tough-as-nails
bootlegger who meets wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter (Matthew Broderick) on the weekend of his nuptials. Our trip is Sunday matinee, May 20. $179 pp. SOLD OUT.

• Prince of Broadway is the very best of Broadway. This new musical features words and music from the popular shows that have earned Hal Prince (at left) a record 21 Tony Awards®. The show is directed by Mr. Prince himself with co-direction and choreography by Tony Award-winner Susan Stroman.
The story charts the circumstances and fortunes that led to Hal Prince creating some of the most enduring and beloved examples of musical theatre over the course of his 60-year career. Expect words and music from some of the shows that have earned Hal Prince a record 21 Tony Awards. His resume includes The Pajama Game, West Side Story, Fiorello!, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Evita, and The Phantom of the Opera, among others.
Linda Lavin, Tony Award winner and former "Alice" icon now appearing on Broadway in The Lyons, will star in Prince of Broadway, joined by Tony winners Shuler Hensley (Oklahoma revival) and LaChanze (The Color Purple), Sebastian Arcelus, Sierra Boggess, and many others.
